I Still Know What You Did Last Summer

Two years after an ineffective attempt to cover up a hit-and-run car accident, Julie James (Jennifer Love Hewitt) continues to be terrorized by a mean hook-handed person in a rain slicker, this time on a deserted tropical island. This sequel to I Know What You Did Last Summer, the first major post-Scream slasher hit, is just as dumb, pointless, and baffling as the original, but it delivers what slasher-genre fans salivate over: skimpily clad teenagers brutalized in grotesque fashion. Despite the constantly mind-boggling stupidity of the main characters (and the oft-ridiculed grammatical error in the title), there are some nice twists, some enjoyable supporting performances, and Love Hewitt is easy on the eyes (it may even seem at times that director Danny Cannon is stalking her). Her Bop-magazine-regular co-stars include Brandy, Freddie Prinze, Jr., and Mekhi Phifer. Presented in both 2.35:1 widescreen and pan-and-scan, and Dolby Digital 5.1 or 2.0. Extras include trailers, a "making-of" featurette, a Love Hewitt music video, and textual supplements.
