Critics had pegged Woody Allen as a scandal-ridden has-been, and his most ardent fans were starting to reluctantly agree, until Deconstructing Harry. Novelist Harry Block, the self-described "worst person in the world," copes with his inability to write, his tattered personal life, and his dependence on booze, pills, and hookers. Allen delivers many laugh-out-loud gags, and his trip to Hell to meet with the Devil (Billy Crystal) is vintage stuff. Good transfer, a must-buy for Allen fans..
